Ok, you all want to know how the day went, but really you just want to know how your child behaved, and whether they learned anything...I know how it goes. Well, let me start by letting you know that the whole class represented their school, their community, and themselves in the most polite and respectful way. It was really a perfect day, from the trip on the OC transpo during rush hour, through the tour of Center Block (ask about seeing the Mace paraded by), to our time spent in the gallery watching question period. They listened to instructions, answered questions, and were attentive throughout. Even when question period started to drag on in my opinion most of them were focused and did not want to leave when we did. Well done all around. We all found it exciting when some of the questions started to get heated, and Mr. Mackay had to do some defending of his position. You also might be proud to know that the MP's didn't totally act as infantile as they have at times in the past (though there was some name calling, etc.).
Great job all around. We will have lots to talk about in the days ahead.
Have a great weekend.
