Literacy Log Work...

This week our literacy log work has to do with finding a photo from a newspaper or magazine, with a caption.  The students will be creating five new ideas that go with the photo, in addition to the original caption.  Tomorrow we will be doing a sample in class, so the logs will go home tomorrow, but they can start by looking for their photo tonight...

Here is an example....

Original:  Canada defeats Sweden to win men's Olympic hockey gold. Sidney Crosby makes it 2-0 Canada on a breakaway!
Re-Write 1:  Canada defeats Sweden to win men's Olympic hockey gold.  Sidney Crosby is seen here telling everyone how big the fish was he caught just before the game while ice fishing in Russia.
Re-Write 2:  Sidney Crosby throws his hands up in the air to claim his innocence after the Swedish Olympic Hockey team accuses him of taking their last meatball.
Re-Write 3:  Sidney Crosby raises his hands in celebration after finding out that the Americans lost the Bronze medal game.
