The Moving Blues -BY ROOM 308
I woke up early one morning
And the blues came falling down
I came downstairs and my
Mom was wearing a frown
She wanted to tell me
Tell me about a new house
But when she tried
She was quiet as a mouse
She handed me a note
And ran right out the door
As I read the two lines
I crumpled to the floor
When she came back in
Oh, I felt so bad
So I ran upstairs,
I just had to call my dad
He said “Hey, Hey
Everything’s going to be allright”
He said “Hey, Hey
Everything’s going to be allright”
“I’m sure she didn’t mean
To give you such a fright”
We packed our bags
And we moved far away
To a brand new place
Where my mom would get better pay
We couldn’t pay the bills
So we headed for the hills
We couldn’t pay the bills
So we headed for the hills
We couldn’t pay the bills
So we headed for the hills
We couldn’t pay the bills
So we headed for the hills that night
“Hey, Hey
Everything’s going to be allright”
“Hey, Hey
Everything’s going to be allright”
“I’m sure she didn’t mean
To give you such a fright”
We couldn’t pay the bills
So we headed for the hills
We couldn’t pay the bills
So we headed for the hills
We couldn’t pay the bills
So we headed for the hills
We couldn’t pay the bills
So we headed for the hills that night
Many thanks to Mighty Popo and Michael Jerome Browne for their guidance and inspiration. Long live the Blues!
