I am sure that the word has reached most of you by now that our open house (Movie night in room 308) has been switched from the Wednesday to the Tuesday. I just wanted to send off a message to let everyone know that it is "official". Tuesday was always our intended night, as it has been on that evening in the past, and we have open access to the class on Tuesdays. However we decided to move it to the Wednesday as a class because some mentioned that, though it was not convenient for many, we hardly ever have extra things on Wednesday (for weeks there have been School of Rock rehearsals on Mondays and Tuesdays). This sounded good at the time, so we switched the newsletter and put down Wednesday (many have noted that we forgot to switch the 17th to the 18th). However, several events have conspired to force us to push it back to the Tuesday. The first major event for next year's grade sevens at Summit is the Summit Barbecue on Wednesday evening. I do not want to pull any of the sixes away from that, and I don't want them to miss out on anything just because of scheduling that I can easily adjust. Another community event is taking place at the GCTC, it is a dance recital and a portion of it is a tribute to Anna MacDonald. So with these two or three things pushing us away from Wednesday we have decided to go with Tuesday evening at 6:30pm. If you wish to come earlier for a look around or a chat the room will be open from six. This is a great chance for us to get together and share some memories. The kids will show thier flash animations, there are videos to watch, and slideshows to check out. It should be a fun evening. For those who have offered to bring treats I am sure they would be welcome. We could probably also do with a fan for the evening as it might get a bit warm in the classroom. And bring your singing voice as there might be time for an original Room 308 Blues song. Regards, Ray
