Persuasive Writing Assignment

This quick writing assignment was given out early last week. It is due next Tuesday. Some needed extra copies of the outline, so here it is.

As a class we decided that we would like to raise funds for those less fortunate than ourselves. We will start collecting donations over the next couple of weeks. Now all we have to do is decide on which organization to use to help get the money to those in need.
Your task is to research charitable organizations that interest you.
Jot down all of the reasons that you think this organization is the one we should choose.
Once you have your reasons listed organize them into a piece of persuasive writing that will be convincing, and hopefully sway the class into choosing the charity you picked.
Remember that like those persuasive pieces we have written and explored in class, good persuasive pieces have at least three strong arguments that support the main idea (which is to donate to your chosen organization).
Your good copy will have at least five paragraphs, including strong introduction and conclusion paragraphs in addition to the three paragraphs for your arguments.
Have someone edit your work before handing it in.
This assignment is due Tuesday February 17.
