It would be almost impossible not to know that the grade 5/6's are preparing to present a play with all of the buzz and excitement going on these days. As we continue to paint sets, build props, cut costumes, and wrap boxes (any parent help this week would be gladly accepted) the students are rehearsing their lines and singing their songs. Along with the Blues this week, preparation for the play will "play" a big role in 0ur programming up until opening night. Our evening show will be next Tuesday, March 10th, at 7:00pm. Students will be asked to arrive at 6:30pm and check in with Ray in the classroom so we can be sure all the parts are covered. We will present a daytime show the following morning at 9:00am for the school and anyone who can not attend the evening showing.
Students are asked to dress in khaki or light coloured clothing for the Egypt scene (no sleeves, or sleeves rolled up would be best), with sandals. For the Greek scenes we have white material and sheets that we will be cutting to make into Greek chitons (similar to togas). Some of the gods and goddesses are adding details to their costumes, or choosing to wear dress that is slightly different, but suited to their roles. Sandals will also be the main footwear for this scene.
We are looking for more old white sheets to use, and we are trying to create an Egyptian funeral mask and sarcophagus this week if anyone is looking for a way to help out.
We hope to see all of the families out for one or the other of the shows. If there is any reason that your child will not make either show please let me know. Regards, Ray

Hi Ray
Just let me know how many sheets you would like. I have tons of them that I got from the hotels I worked at. I use them for painting drop sheets.
