Blues in the Schools 2010 kicked off today at Churchill with a taste of Gospel music in a sing a long that had everyone on their feet dancing and singing. The class responded well to it, and we have loosely decided to try our hand at writing a song of our own this week. Tomorrow our dress theme is tye dye, or Churchill S of R t-shirt day. It is being called Spirit Day, and we will have another guest presenter in to talk and play the blues in a presentation at 9:20 am.
Just a reminder that Wednesday is Dress like a Blues Brother Day, Thursday is Dress as your Favourite Rock Star Day, and Friday is PJ Day.
Representatives from our class attended the launch of the "Pull up a Chair for Breakfast" fundraiser this morning, along with representatives from Sharon's class. They were very excited to tell us all about the other designs, and to inform us that our chair (The Reader)currently has the highest bid on it (at around $95). This fundraiser is helping support the breakfast program for students in need here in Ottawa. Check out the chairs, and place a bid by following this link:

There is also a vote going on at IKEA for the most popular chair design. They are collecting votes in person at the IKEA here in Ottawa. The chair that collects the most votes will win a $250 prize, and respect for the most creative design. Tell all of your friends, and drop by the store to vote if you have time.
