MacSkimming

By now everyone should have come down off of the roller coaster of the School of Rock 6 week. It was a smashing success again this year, and our class played a big role not just in the performing of the show (all but six of the students in our class performed with the choir, and eight of the class played instruments with the band) but also in the preparation of the posters for the show. This is always an elaborate project to undertake, and the class rose to the occasion, creating some wonderful posters, and backdrops. When the curtain opened and the backdrop was revealed during the second song of the show, there was an incredible round of applause, that our class can directly feel responsible for. Another great job by room 308!
Information packages were sent home Monday regarding our class trip to MacSkimming. All of the relevant details are included in this package, such as departure and return times, costs, menu outline, packing checklist, map of directions, and a general itinerary of the day's events. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this event, please let me know as soon as possible. We would like all forms (the yellow sheets in the package) returned ASAP (Monday at the latest).
For those who are still unclear on the date of the Honouring ceremony, once again, it is taking place on the final Monday of the school year. The event starts just after morning attendance, and many parents come in to choose seats at the start of the day, so don't go for coffee and expect to have a spot up front. Family members are all welcome to this event. It will be just over 2 hours in length, and light refreshments will follow. Traditionally we have parents of grade 5 students organize the reception (they will have theirs organized the following year for them). If anyone is willing to help out with this, or with the Picnic in the park that will follow (donate food, set up tables, drive equipment to the park) please contact Ray.
I hope everyone is thinking sunny thoughts with the long weekend coming up!
Regards, Ray
