This is a few days late in coming, but both my boys have been to CHEO in the days since the big event, so life has been a bit hectic. In any event, a huge thanks to all the Room 308 families who came out to help with our Math Freaks night. It was an overwhelming success, with rave reviews from all who attended. We were not sure what success would look like with this event, but in the end it was easy to measure through the smiles, focused discussions over math facts, and the general buzz that was in the air throughout the whole night. The students in the class got a great sense of accomplishment from their role in the planning and hosting of the event. We will continue to look at the data that we collected on the night of the event in math circles over the coming week, but beyond that I know that the students, and all who participated, will take the memories of the event with them for a long time. Thanks again, for all of the support, and the helping hands.
And a double thanks to everyone for getting those skating forms in so quickly. We had a perfect return on the forms in just one day!
Megan's husband is responsible for her addition to our Fear Factor graph, and her popularity. The honest results had teachers leading the way for greatest fears.
Fun with Pascal's triangle. Who would have guessed?
What a great turnout for costumes. Chewie here was in good company, with a full blown clone trooper, and most of the rest of the crowd in full Halloween gear.
Pumpkin pattern blocks
Some of the fine fare from the Little Shop of Horrors
Estimation was never as fun as with the Math o Lantern station, and mmmmmm what a smell!
