Check It!

Our class is presenting our song choice to the junior music group tomorrow morning.  The details, lyrics, and a video link can be found on our music group site...

Just a reminder that as part of our language program, each student was given homework three weeks ago, requiring them to research a Canadian singer/band, and deconstruct a song (as we have in class many times) and present it to the class.  A third of the class has not presented, and are not getting credit for completing this homework as of yet.  They have one more week to get their songs in.

I wanted to remind everyone that, as stated on the letters that went home almost two weeks ago, the due date for Blues in the Schools fees is now past, and we still have several students who have not handed in their $4. There is a chance that the program will not run if we do not get full collection of the fees to pay for the program. Bluesfest pays the majority of the cost of running this wonderful program, which will bring musicians and music teachers into the school each day next week to share the history of the Blues, and to get the students dancing and singing. The Blues in the Schools workshops/performances will be at 1:00 each afternoon next week.
Yesterday the students in the class completed an in class 'Reading Response' in preparation for their homework this week. The expectation is that they respond, in writing, following a prompt they have been given, to something they have been reading this week. The finished response is due back in class by Friday.
This will be a regular writing assignment for homework over the remaining months of the year, so expect your child to be bringing this home each week.
We are going to be filming for our stop motion festival entries next week. If you are available to come in and supervise/offer advice between 10:20 and 12:00 next Wednesday, please let me know so that I can arrange our filming schedule. We would also appreciate the lending of digital cameras for this activity, as the one touch cameras we have on hand are not as high a quality as we could hope. Tripods might also be helpful...

Regards, Ray
