Portrait Gallery Visit
Last Tuesday we travelled downtown to the National Archives building for a workshop put on by the Portrait Gallery of Canada. The program was called “In Your Face”, and it focused on a growing collection of postcard sized portraits sent to the Art Gallery of Ontario by people of all ages from across Canada and around the world. Everyone really enjoyed how they were displayed, and we had a great time just looking at all of the ways people had chosen to create portraits of themselves. The great people from the Gallery gave us hands on lessons in drawing the human face, and some of us even took turns posing for portraits. We are going to create some portraits to submit to their collection in the coming weeks. Many thanks to Richard, Steve, Janine, Heather, Natalie, Jennifer, and Amy for making it all possible for coming along for the day!
