Spring Updates

Welcome back! I hope that everyone had a safe and enjoyable March Break. It was great to see everyone back and so well rested after the week off. This is just a quick update to let you know what is coming in the next few weeks.
i First I would remind everyone that this week and the next 2 weeks are both short ones for us. This Friday is a PA day, and the following Friday is Good Friday, and school is closed for both that day and the Easter Monday that follows.
i As a result of the reporting period, and the shortened weeks, regular homework scheduling will be a bit different. Check your student’s agenda for any adjustments to this schedule each week. Daily assignments may be sent home to be completed if not done during the regular school day, and reading responses will be expected each week as usual.
i We will be having our second set of Student Led conferences later in the term, along with an open house. If anyone has any concerns about their child’s progress I would be glad to arrange a three way conference (parents, student, and teacher) later this week. Let me know by making a note on page 3 of the report when you sign and return it.
i A last minute reminder to all that we will be participating in “Curriculum Days” at the museum of Science and Tech tomorrow.
i The forms have gone home, and many have returned, for our trip to the NAC and the presentation of the “Bravo Beethoven!” concert on Tuesday, April 7. Some Churchill students will be on stage and involved, so we will have something extra special to look forward to. .
i Finally I would remind everyone that Spring is here, but Winter is not fully gone. Students still need separate outdoor and indoor footwear, and appropriate gym footwear if their indoor footwear are not appropriate. Warm coats are still expected as the temperature is still hovering around the freezing point, and we can expect cold spells and even snow over the coming weeks.
Best Regards, Ray
