Short but busy!

This week is going to be a busy one. We just finished agendas here in class and it looks like we are packing a lot into this four day week, so I thought I would fill everyone in on what is ahead.
Friday is a PD day, for those who had forgotten, so this means that our Reading Responses are due on Thursday, along with our regular homework. If they get started right away this should be no problem. Many students have been returning their work earlier in the week, and this is ok, except that the Reading Response has a log portion that they need at home during the week to keep track of what they are reading each day.
The surveys that went home last week (see previous blog entry) need to be completed and returned by Wednesday as we are using the data in class that day. The grade 5 one deals with Conservation items, and the grade 6 one is looking at Space innovations in our homes. Most of the class seems to be finished, or have made a good start on them. It really represents less than five minutes per sheet to get the information from parents, grandparents, etc.
Wednesday is I-Walk day. Notices went home Friday and today about it. Ask your child about the presentation we had today on the topic.
Our first Sub Days of the year are booked. The forms need to be back by Thursday. We will be counting sub money during the middle of the day Thursday, and we can always use extra hands, so anyone willing to come in for some support that day is welcome.
CASC has sent a newsletter home, so look for it in your child's agenda.
The cross country meet is this week for those who have been involved.
Photo day is the 13th of October (after Thanksgiving). It was on some schedules for the 8th, but it has been changed. The timing of our photos is subject to change, so please try to not book anything on this date so we can have everyone present in the class photo (if possible).
Ask your child why you should be on the lookout for Jelatong pencils.
Regards, Ray
