We can still do with volunteers to help with the mural. As you can see it is a work in progress, that is really progressing, but we need to do second coats of a lot of colours (and we need some
steady hands to even out some edges). Let me know if you can drop in for some time during the day in the next week.
And please let me know if you are going to be away for extra days either before, or after the March break. We are planning presentations, special guest speakers, trips, blues in the schools, etc., and I would like to know who will be around when as it becomes difficult to plan for the class when attendance is an issue as I don't want anyone to miss out on anything.
On similar notes, we need to get money and forms in for 1 Blues in the Schools, and 2 Outdoor Ed Cross Country Trip.
We will have a special guest presenter from the U of O this Thursday in to talk about major figures in black history to go along with our discussions for black history month.

Over the past month our class has worked together with Sharon's 3/4's to brainstorm, design, and create an original adaptation of an IKEA chair. Along with help from Donna the students worked on their idea for a "reading chair" by painting a bookshelf addition to the chair with titles from favourite books, knitting, and felting a cushion and a cat hammock, and painting the chair overall. It will be unveiled at IKEA next Monday morning as part of their silent auction fundraiser to raise money for school breakfast programs in Ottawa. Stop by to check it out, and you could even make a bid on it!
