Recycled Fashion Show and More

With the overnight and School of Rock 5 passed we are now looking to the final weeks of school, and the are shaping up to be busy ones.
Jenny and I are expecting our first child in the coming days, which means I will likely be taking a few days off. I am sure the news will travel fast once it happens.
The honouring ceremony should be marked off on all grade 6 calendars. It will take place on the morning of June 21. We need some grade 5 parents to take responsibility for organizing the reception in the lobby following the ceremony (hanging decorations, getting cake, drinks, etc). Please let Ray know if you can help with this.
We will need help with the organization of our grade 5/6 afternoon in the park. We typically order pizza, go there for lunch, play games, have activities, etc. Let Ray know if you can help organize this.
We are taking donations of sidewalk chalk for the chalk festival we will be organizing in the second last week of school.
EQAO will take place during the first week of June for the grade 6's. We will give more info soon regarding the details.
This week we are starting the design and planning process for our annual recycled fashion show project. We are looking for old, no longer used, and out of style clothing which we can re-create into new fashion ideas. This is a great project to enforce the re-use portion of the three R's, and we get to work on some sewing and creative writing skills as well. Please send in any clothing we can use this week. We will be sewing starting Friday.
Remember that this Thursday morning there is a Volunteer Tea in the lobby at school. Come early and enjoy some refreshments and conversation in the front lobby.
Ray
