Terry Fox Run

Just a quick reminder that the Terry Fox Run is this Thursday. We always have more room for volunteers on this day to come out and encourage our runners, or run along with them. All students are reminded that they need to bring a water bottle, running shoes, and a litterless lunch. Right now it is calling for partial sunshine, so hats and sunscreen would be a good idea as well. This is typically a highlight of the fall season, so I hope that everyone can make it out.
In class this week we are finishing up letters to our local MPP's. We hope to send them off by the end of the week. Each student wrote a persuasive letter describing an item of concern from the world around them. Some topics they chose to write about included a need for more bike paths in their neighbourhoods, a feeling that there is too much development in their areas, making it dangerous for them to walk or play around thier homes, the idea of checking up on people who don't recycle properly, and many more interesting observations.
Another ongoing project that you might be able to help out with is our "Awesome things About Churchill" list. Inspired by the blog and book '1000 Awesome Things' we have been trying to collect 100 things in a list that we feel make Churchill 'Awesome'. If you have ideas that might make our list send them in with your child.
I hope to see many of you at the run Thursday.
Regards, Ray
