Our Global Letter Project had its unveiling today in the hallway outside of Room 308. It was exciting to get the expositories written by the students, together with their artwork, finally finished and posted. The class was singing their ABC's as we filed into the hallway to put them up, and they attracted a great deal of attention from teachers, students, and parents over the course of the afternoon. Drop by to check them out if you get a chance.
Another in our line of Social Justice projects was unveiled today as well, in the hallway just outside of the library. After learning a great deal about inspirational figures in black history who stood up for what they believed in, each student brainstormed the kinds of issues they felt worth standing up for in their world. Our 'I Stand' statements range from students who want to stand up for a world without child labour, war, poverty, and homelessness, to students who want to stand up against bullying, pollution, crime, and cruelty to animals. If you get a chance, drop in and see what kinds of important issues our students feel passionate about.
