I tried to post this link on Friday, but could not get online, so here is the McDonalds food calculator we were using on the smartboard last week. It was really eye opening for everyone to play with fast food selections and see what nutrient results came from them (sorry to any families who had a hard time if you stopped for a quick bite this weekend).

This week we will be continueing to record our experiences as readers through the completion of the tasks in our Literacy Log, including a summary activity. We have been summarizing in class, using tables to organize the most important details from what we are reading. This time around students will be asked to summarize the main points of one of the things that they choose to read over the course of the week at home. As we have done each week, students will have an overview of the activity to staple into their Literacy Logs, and we will brainstorm how to get our thoughts organized in class. The logs are due back on Friday.
It should be a busy week, as we need to fit a lot in before the PD day on Friday. Keep posted for a Field Day make up date and form coming home soon.
Regards, Ray
