This Week's Reading Logs

We have 'officially' changed the name from Literacy Log, to Reading Log, at the request of our students who also have a Media Literacy Journal, and were finding the word Literacy twice a bit confusing. This week's task is as follows:
Room 308, Literacy Log Task – Week of November 21 – 25, 2011
+ Choose any character from the book you are reading this week. Use details from the story to describe what kind of person they are.
+ Does this character remind you of any friends, family members, or classmates? Explain.
+ If you could have a conversation with this character, what would you ask them?
+ Discuss how this character shows his/her personality by the actions he/she takes.
+ Would you like to be this character from the story in real life? Support your answer.
+ If you were this character in the story, would you do anything different? Why or why not?
+ If you had to buy a birthday present for this character, what do you think would be appropriate, and why?

I am happy to be back with the class this week, after spending last week off recovering from knee surgery. We are back into our regular routine, and I hope that it will be a seamless transition. This Thursday we have our 'business basics' program back after a really great response to last year's program.
Just a reminder that Saturday is the highly anticipated craft fair at Churchill. Everyone is encouraged to come on out to do some shopping, visit with friends, or grab a bite to eat at the canteen.
Regards, Ray
ps. Churchill Cooks cookbook order forms went home today for those interested in a delicious read!
