update

Things have been busy over the past few weeks, and there is a lot planned in the coming weeks.  Just a quick reminder that we will be skating at Dulude on the 7th, and that our trip to the Rogers TV studio is postponed until further notice.
If possible we will be also postponing group snack until further notice in response to the gastro intestinal outbreak at our school.  this is a step urged by the public health unit due to the high number of illnesses at the school recently (on another note our class had perfect attendance today for the first time in weeks!)
Our social studies unit wrapped up with a poster project that the students used to teach each other about some of Canada's trade partners.
We are mid way through our unit on Space.
In the coming week our students will be writing the closing paragraphs to their five paragraph persuasive essays.
Kate Settle has spent two sessions with our class this week, introducing them to skills in photography.  If you plan to take any photos this holiday season be prepared for a lecture from your children on keeping your elbows in, choosing the proper shutter speed, and light settings.  They might fancy themselves experts after all of the experience they have shooting around the school and yard, so you may as well pass them the camera and let them take on family photo duties.
And you may want to look closely at any photos printed around your house in the future, as we have been refining our photoshop skills in computers over the past three weeks.  Keep posted for some cool examples of our photoshop work.
We have been doing lino block reductions, and block printing in art class over the past two weeks.  Our finished prints will be posted in the hallway on the third floor tomorrow.
Arts Electives are postponed until next Friday.
