Bedroom Math

This week we have continued our work on Perimeter and Area by taking measurements around the school/classroom. As an at home assignment each student was given a measuring tape, and a piece of graphing paper, along with some guiding questions to answer. Their goal is to measure, and perform some calculations based on the dimensions of thier bedroom. They have worked on irregular shaped objects, so there should be no problems there. They have been instructed to round to the nearest half meter for all measurements. This should be approximately a half hour of work, as that is what it took for a similar activity in class. If there are any difficulties, we can talk about them on Friday when we all meet to discuss the questions. Regards, Ray
