Music with a Message

This week we will continue to work on our Biography rough draft in class. By the end of the week each student should have a rough draft of between 8 and 10 chapters completed, and will have conferenced at least once with Ray regarding their work. Today we worked on putting together the components of our back page. Tomorrow we will look at how to collect information and organize it for a glossary page. The pieces are starting to come together. Last week students in our class were told to start listening and searching for songs that have a strong message in their lyrics. As part of our poetry unit, today each student was given a graphic organizer and the task of recording details, and thier interpretation of the meaning in the words of the song they have chosen. This is due back Friday. Anyone able to bring in an actual copy of the song they are analyzing is encouraged to do so. We will start presenting these songs and reflections on Monday.
